I am currently setting up Cervical Smear requests on ICE. I am interested to know if there are any other users who have done this and what pitfalls I need to avoid.

I have just set up all the test rules for cytology smear test. This is the easiest test to set up in the CellPath area of pathology.

Hi Howard

only pitfall we can see so far is that smear taker and registered GP fields need to be there to replicate whats on the HMR form. Options are free text - allows them to enter complete rubbish ! or a very long pick list which then needs to be managed and there is the danger that in clicking they will miss their target and select completely the wrong smear-taker from a completely different location. It would be good if these pick lists could be set-up by location. Have gone for free text currently.

Any other comments from others ??

Regards

Dave
