We (Anglia) are about to start a new implementation of ICE Desktop at a fairly large Trust. The following question has been asked and it was suggested that we post the question on the forum for any suggestions / comment.

"One specific area I would welcome views / comments on from yourself / colleagues is the issue of electronic ADT.  We have a particular issue in the Trust in moving towards real time ADT (via Capula Oasis PAS) - we have attempted this in a variety of ways over the past 2 years and yet take up remains poor for 2 main reasons - nurse resourcing and desire to retain ward 'books'.  Ward clerks are not 24 hours.  We know that Order Comms will assist in persuading them to move to electronic ADT, but we see ADT as the building block upon which such things as OCS should be built.  Chicken and egg if you like.  If the system has any innovative methods of assisting with this drive, then I, and particularly the Head of Clinical Informatics and Head of ICT Training will be more than happy to hear / see them.  It could assist greatly in the smooth take up of the product overall. "

I am sure this is an issue faced by alot of the Trusts and if anyone has any thoughts, I will ensure they are fed back.

Many thanks in anticipation

Dominic
