Our Trust has been producing electronic discharge summaries for some time but they are currently sent via email to GP's. We would like to be able to send these documents via the ICE messaging route; does anyone else have experience of doing this?

Beware it’s not all happy GP’s out they receiving letters by XML Kettering.
Once a letter goes out by xml Kettering the GP practice cannot move the letter to the treating doctor. As you may of assign the registered doctor on your pas to the patient.
Only practice who can accept xml kettering

If a GP practice has docman they want it in that system.
Trying to get about 100 GP to agree to one thing is a task in it self

Dear jk7 / Jamie

Could you perhaps explain in more details the problem you outline with xml kettering. Are the messages if going via Labcomm not going to a single location at the Practice. The message then gets processed from the "pathology messaging" queue and then attached to the patient record.

Are you describing a problem with Labcomm/DTS or something about the message format in xml kettering.

There are some systems that may not work with Labcomm but are there problems with xml as well?

Any chance of a bit more detail please ?

Thanks

Paul Humphreys
