Just an issue in our ICE training environment where we have set up a patient test analysis termed ‘mrsa’. We configured the analysis to recognise a particular word in the text of the report, namely ‘Growth’ in this case, but when the report was sent over from Winpath, no alert was issued to the named users with regards to the presence of this particular word in the main body of the report. Could anyone provide any clues and also details of how this has been set up within other Trusts??

What version of the ICE software are you using?

We are moving to Version 8.x soon and would also like to start using alerts based on text flags for Path and Rad and would be keen to know more about how alerts are working in your Trust.

I am also looking at building in rules for alerts. I would be grateful if anyone could share their experience of completing this successfully.

The alerts I am initially trying to set up are for A&E abnormal blood results. The thinking behind this is that if we can generate an alert we no longer need to produce the paper copy as a back up.

In reality the paper copies are of little value as everyone has to be through A&E in 4 hours and the outstanding test results are flagged on the electronic live board.
