A quick note to anyone who may contemplate the same. We installed the ICE system in June this year and had the system database merged with our Labcomm database. Worked a treat

We had always intended to upload a copy of our PMI to the system and set up a feed from our registration system. We have just recently implemented a solution to utilise our own PMI number as the master number. The creation of a new, or update of an existing record now fires out messages to our booking system, EPR, Radiology and Pathology systems, therefore all will use the same number and that will also reside in ICE. However, due to delays with the messaging set-up and interfacing etc, we didn't manage to achieve this until September.

All seemed to be tickety boo until I realised that the PMI upload does not go through any of the import rules for patient matching - resulting in 65,000 merges
