Dear All,

We are literally just starting to look at how we can use ICE for Radiology and one question that leaps out is how do other site deal with non doctors requesting?

Under IRMER our non medical referrers are very tightly bound as to what they can request and only under specific conditions or disease processes. This is different than the conditions for the majority of Drs and we were wondering how other had dealt with this.

Are you coming to the user group meeting next week?

At Peterborough we have a lot of non medical people who ‘transcribe’ a request onto our system on behalf of a recognised IRMER covered requestor.

This group includes Nurses in the OPD & at ward level, HCA’s and secretaries.
If you are coming to the meeting we could discuss this topic in our Radiology break out session?

If not send me an email and I will give you the back ground on how we set this up at Peterborough.

Thanks for the reply Paul.

There will be 2 of us up at the Radiology session next week and we would look forward to discussing this and several other aspects of ICE with regard to a Radiology implementation.
