Dear Radiology colleagues.

We are hoping to set up a ‘break out session’ in the afternoon of this day. So it is hoped that we can discuss specific issues around the use of Anglia ICE within Radiology.

At the first user group meeting a couple of months back, it was suggested that we should discuss the use of ICE in requesting radiology exams and how that works with IRMER.

“Procedures to correctly identify individuals to be exposed to ionising radiation”

“Procedures for making enquiries of females of child-bearing age to establish whether the individual is or may be pregnant or breast feeding”

“Procedures to ensure that the probability and magnitude of accidental or unintended doses to patients from radiological practices are reduced so far as reasonably practicable”

“practitioner”

 "operator”

 "referrer”

So what do you think? Where do you feel the system works with us in relationship to IRMER or does not?

Would you like to see some work done on setting up the afternoon in relationship to this subject?

Or do you think we have more pressing matters we need to discuss and or learn about.

It is our afternoon to get the most out of, so please email me or Max Clarke (Norfolk & Norwich Hospital) or better still reply to this thread.

Paul,

Hello from Dorchester. Diagnostic Imaging has just started to come within scope with using ICE and we have begun to look at how we think we would like to set ICE for radiology.

We would welcome any discussion at the moment and will be sending 2 radiology representatives to the ICE User Group at Aston Villa next week.

Many thanks,

Ian Rowe
