It is arranged that the first ever Radiology SIG webinar will take place this Friday 4th June.

We hope to begin using the webinar facility to discuss all the topics for radiology ICE users at this type of event, and we will be able to present Sunquest with our top 5 -6 items on our wish list.

I hope that this is just the first of many such web events were we can all meet up to discuss issues with in the world of ICE, and provide a user group steer to Sunquest.

If you would like to be involved in this or any future webinars please contact me directly so that I can get you name on the invite list.

As the user group chairman, I hope that other special interest groups may find this type of meeting of benefit to their specialised field....... If you do let me know and i will try and set one up in the first instance for your group, then hand it on to yourselves for your groups informational/educational meetings - This is what I hope will happen to the RISIG.

I would just like to mention to all ICE users that the radiology Group (RSIG) held its first 'webinar' last Friday 4th June, and it was very successful.

Using the Sunquest supported iLinc, we were able to connect a group of sites across the country, where they could view a presentation I gave to the RSIG.

We started the group meeting off with a PowerPoint presentation from my desktop, and allowed the group using the dial in conference facility to ask questions or discuss topics.

The group felt that this was very successful and provided the much needed communication within the group. The following points were raised about its use:-

Raised awareness of other radiology departments working with ICE and the issues they have.
Some good practice guides from other sites
The ability to share the screen with other users may help, as it is sometimes difficult to explain what we mean, but if we could show, that would be a different matter
With Sunquest members being on the webinar as well, we were able to get direct, instant feed back on our suggestions and questions.
We were able to stress that when we provide our guidance to Sunquest, we should provide the way forward for Order Comms within radiology, for all system suppliers – competition is great in this market place.
The inclusion of other suppliers i.e. RIS would be of great benefit to discuss how both systems interface to each other.
There is still a need to meet up at least once a year, apart from the SIUG conference, but this will allow us to discuss ways forward earlier, rather than bottle them up until the conference, which becomes time limited.

Neelam Dugar provided a document for discussion at the webinar

Issues and Gaps in Clinical Functionality

System is very slow. It should not take more than 3 secs to change between screens. Currently 10-15 secs or more between screens which is unacceptable.

Requesting Screen:

o Need access to MBUR as a link from left hand tab
o Need access to PACS Summary tab from the left hand side of screen (discussed at Integration meeting with Accenture &Sunquest)

View Requests by Patient: This will allows doctors to review all requests for a particular patient.

The term sample collection does not make sense with radiology.

Requesting Screen: Doctors on the Ward/Clinics and Consultants will use this screen to make an order/request for an exam

o Bleep/contact number needs to self-populate from log-in details
o Requesting Consultant/GP—field needs renamed as “Requesting Responsible Consultant/GP” for consistency
o Requesting Responsible Consultant/GP---Needs to automatically populate from PAS with user ability to change
o Location needs to change to be renamed as “Patient Location at Request”
o Patient Location at Request---Needs to automatically populate from PAS with user ability to change
o Sample Collection option needs to be renamed—continue with Exam request.
o Continue with Request needs to be automatically ticked. (the extra mouse click is unnecessary)
o Font size of “X-ray Mandible” is very small and scarcely visible---Font needs to be changed to make more conspicuous

View Requests by Location---Doctors on the Ward and Consultants will use this screen to assess the outstanding orders/requests

o Requesting Doctor---renamed as "Requesting Responsible Consultant/GP"---that is what the drop down menu shows--Consultant list
o Provider should be renamed as "Reporting Department"---drop down menu should be radiology, pathology etc
o Sample Type should be "Exam Type"----as the term exam applies to both radiology and pathology
o Sample Status should be "Exam Status" or just "Status" will do.
o Sample Collection does not make sense for radiology
o Need a separate tab on the left side View Requests by Responsible Consultant---with a default to the Consultant

View Order Screen

o Layout is very poor. The fields that need to stand out in this are
 Exam Requested
 Clinical Details.
o Colour/look of notepad needs to change when notes are added.

Results Acknowledgement/Filing List

o Location Types—there should be only 2 types of location—Outpatient/GP or Inpatient/A&E. This allows for radiology rules to be set-up for the different groups. This also allows consultants to be able to file/acknowledge reports for Inpatients within 24 hour, but give some more time to deal with out-patient reports—say 3 days.
o Filters not available but required:
 Current Patient Location
 Requester
o Unfiled reports should include:
 Authorised Report
 Cancelled Order on RIS (Reason needs appear as report)
 DNA (report message from RIS to say patient did not attend)
 Exam not performed ((Reason needs appear as report)
 Amended Report
o Auto-acknowledge the IRMER reports—Read by Referrer reports.
o Need another tab on the left side with “Responsible Consultant/GP reports” –with default to logging in consultant for unfiled reports.

Results Acknowledgement Screen

 Needs a link to PACS image --Integration Requirement (Discussed with Sunquest & Accenture)
 Needs a link to Order screen (Screen 4)
 Display of the report needs to be crisp and clear and easy to read—
Exam description, report, reporter and grade of reporter
Specialty (in the yellow Box) renamed as “Reporting Department”
Clinician (in the yellow box) renamed as “Requesting Responsible Consultant”
Single mouse click to acknowledge a report –currently a 2 mouse click process—which is more cumbersome than a paper process. (Notepad functionality is available for doctors/other users to document any comments that will be usable to all users)
Dr. Neelam Dugar 13/5/10

All in all it was a great success and I hope that all my colleagues from the different disciplines will follow suit. It is more effective and certainly in the current climate a cheaper way to discuss our views on ICE.

Could all Radiology users using this site please use this forum to let me know the following:

When you think we should hold the next webinar?
I would hope first or second week in September.

What subjects you would like to discuss at this meeting?

What subjects would you like discussed at the User group meeting in October, within the radiology stream?
Or to be in the main session with our colleagues from the other disciplines and streams?
