Dear all

Our project has raised a risk regarding the small font size of the summary printout. We print off a opy to give to teh patinet and have already had complaints from patients about this and have requested that Sunquest modify the system accordingly

Sunquest have requsted that I post on this forum, as they want to establish whether this a local or a national issue

The NHS Toolkit for producing patient information states -

The font size should be between 12 point (minimum) and 14 point. However, ifyou are providing information for elderly people or people with sight difficulties, you should always use 14 point or larger.

Have you had any issues with patients complaining about the small font size?

Thanks

John

Hi John,

The font size configured on the Clinical Letter is size 11. It will be interesting to hear what others think about this. We do have a 25 minute Q&A in the afternoon session of the Discharge SIG so please bring this up then.

Ben

This has already  been raised with Sunquest  as an issue, a change request has therfore been sent to them. Both the clinicians in theTrust and Primary Care are complaining.
